Hi there, I'm Chelsea! I'm the owner and creator behind Into the Woods Co located in Innisfil, Ontario. Label design, sourcing local toxin free ingredients, web design, book keeping, scent testing, lab studies, handcrafting, restocking... all me. I've built this little business from the ground up. Its my creative outlet and baby❤.

Professionally, I'm also an environmental scientist and consultant. I have two degrees in environmental sciences from Georgian College and Royal Roads University. I think everyone can benefit from and figure out ways to incorporate environmentalism into their lifestyle and hobbies! My hubby and I built an addition on our home and part of that addition included my 25’ x 36’ lab, apothecary and office loft space. I love this space, in which I work and create. There’s lots of light and views of Kempenfelt bay and the surrounding forest. When you’re creating energy and intention, one of the most important things is that you vibe with your space. Our company name, "Into the Woods", was inspired by that vibe and intention of creating environmentally friendly, soulful, home goods.

I started off making our sassy soy candles for personal use. Generally, candles give me headaches as producers use UV stabilizers, paraffin wax or plant based wax compositions that contain pesticides, chemical additives to increase scent throw and dyes. Frequently, these products are still advertised as plant based or health conscious. I use my background in environmental sciences to ensure our products are environmentally friendly and toxin free selfcare items.

The very first clean burning candle I concocted was a coffee scented soy candle. I fell in love and started jokingly referring to it as "I need caffeine! NOW!". My hubby caught on I was referring to my candle creation and not my usual coffee addiction. All of our candle scent themes are concocted to inspire a mood, feeling or intention.

This is just the beginning. I have lots planned and we are now also offering therapeutic oil blends. Cold processed soaps and more coming soon.
